Theatre Alberta does not necessarily endorse the organizations and/or individuals submitting listings on our site. Engaging local youth ages 10-17 with an exciting theatrical learning experience and creative performance opportunity. Participants will learn performance skills in a variety of disciplines such as voice, movement, dance, acting and improvisation as well as the dynamics of technical theatre.
Musical Explorations is a summer music camp held in the beautiful town of Athabasca, Alberta. The program runs in July from 9am to 4pm each day. The explorations will include musical theatre numbers, speech workshops, vocal development, and the dramatic process. Students will have individual,, small groups and large groups projects will be made available for the young performers. Age groups include 8-11 and 12-15. Email: email@example.com

KidsFringe is a free, fun and a family-friendly mini-Fringe site organized by Fringe Theatre Adventures (FTA) specifically for our littlest Fringers. We provide ten days of exciting arts-based activities and entertainment for children and youth, their families and caregivers. Experience plays, music, storytelling, and more on the KidStage, hear a story in the Book Nook, or get creative at the Craft Corner. Kompany Family Theatre produces a season of high quality, professional, touring productions for daycares, schools, libraries, community events & festivals. We also produce a fully-staged TYA production in the Westbury Theatre (Fringe Theatre Adventures) each fall. Kompany offers a summer mentorship programme where teens, alongside theatre professionals, create and perform a touring show for very young audiences and families and participate in weekly professional theatre skills workshops. During the year we offer touring drama classes for day cares, preschools & schools and a weekly drop-in Drama Class for kids 7 years & up. And, we have a week-long summer day camp for kids 6 to 12 years.
Nextfest presents our celebration of high school artists, a festival within a festival we’ve lovingly dubbed NEXTNextfest. This multi-medium showcase of Edmonton and area artists provides a platform for teen artists under the age of 18 who are serious about creating careers in theatre, music, dance, poetry and visual art. These secondary school artists are encouraged to boldly present their work…and show the twenty-somethings how it’s done!

St. Albert Children’s Theatre has been operating for over 30 years, providing training and opportunities for young people to develop skills in dramatics, vocals and dance. This program offers youth the opportunity to acquire a variety of life skills that will have a lasting impact throughout their lives. Check out our website for class, audition and production details. L’UniThéâtre offers a variety of workshops in schools for all grade levels, a touring production for grades K-6, as well as a youth drama festival for grades 7-12. Our school programming is recommended for francophone and French immersion schools but workshops can be adapted to high school FSL programs.
About Time Productions, a not for profit association, was created in 2005. Our purpose is to bring live theatre, performed by children, to Camrose. Our mission is: To provide affordable, fully inclusive, non competitive, high quality arts educational instruction and performance while instilling an enduring appreciation for arts culture. Let’s Create an Opera / Opera in Schools Tour • YE YP YT
Education programs are an essential part of what we do, enriching the experiences of our current patrons and building audiences for tomorrow through our student and young people outreach. This includes great programs like Let’s Create an Opera that gives students the opportunity to create their own original opera and the Opera in Schools Tour that brings one-act operas into schools performed by Calgary Opera’s Emerging Artists.
This program gives our theatre company the opportunity to share our passion for Shakespeare’s work and challenge, inspire, and intrigue young minds in Alberta.
StoryBook Theatre operates an inclusive variety of theatre based programs ranging from theatre basics to fully staged performances. Each curriculum has been designed with the intention that our students develop acting, self-confidence, teamwork and stagecraft skills. We encourage students to develop and deepen their knowledge of self and their craft, through games, stage work, analyzing and writing of scripts and presenting a final presentation.
