PLEASE NOTE
It’s with profound regret that we must postpone all Workshops by Request: Hometown Series workshops until further notice.

For now, we are optimistically recommending that all workshops be “postponed.” Cancellation is of course also possible, and will be supported, but we are hopeful that in due time we will all be able to gather safely together with new guidelines and restrictions in place that ensure everyone’s health.

It is not currently clear when we should look at rescheduling workshops. For the time-being, we must be patient as both the federal and provincial governments assess the risks and provide advice and guidance.

We are here to support both our instructors and the theatre companies hosting workshops in any and all ways possible. Let us know what you need and how we can help.

Theatre Alberta’s Workshops by Request: Hometown Series will bring the resources of a skilled theatre professional to your community! Workshops by Request are coordinated by Theatre Alberta at your request and targeted to the specific needs of your group. Workshops in both technical and non-technical aspects of theatre bring highly trained theatre artists to your community for one, one and a half, or two-day workshops.

To apply:

Thank you very much for your interest in the Workshops by Request: Hometown Series Program. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Theatre Alberta will not be accepting any submissions for group members to host a workshop in their community prior to fall 2020. You are more than welcome to request a workshop for September 2020 or later and we can reassess the information and guidelines from public health officials and the government to determine whether or not the workshop will be possible at the requested time. We sincerely hope that in due time we can move forward with this program and continue offering educational opportunities for artists across the province. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jake Tkaczyk, Program Coordinator at [email protected].
