Michael is a multidisciplinary performer from Edmonton, Alberta. He has been performing in professional productions in Edmonton since he got his start at 11 years old in Samuel Beckett's "Catastrophe", performed with Surreal Soreal Theatre (definitely an interesting way to discover the scene!). He has trained extensively as an actor, dancer and musician and has developed a love for the unique qualities of each discipline, and how they support each other. His current passion is the guitar, which he started taking lessons for last summer, which he is using to pursue a deeper understanding of musical harmony. When not on the stage, he works at Kunitz Shoes, a local family-operated shoe store to support his ever-growing instrument collection, and loves to explore the world of indie video games.

Amelia Kuntz is in her final year as a drama student, minoring in English at Concordia University.
She has loved theatre from a young age and enjoys participating in improv events, apart from acting in plays and musicals.
Some of her favourite shows she has been a part of in the last several years include “Bring It On”, “Chicago”, “Diary of Anne Frank”, and “Pride and Prejudice.”
She is excited to be at Emerge and hopes to continue to gain experiences and roles in future shows that help her continue to hone her skills and abilities in the fine arts.

He has recently graduated from Macewan's BFA in Music Theatre Performance and is grateful to be stepping into Alberta’s vibrant theatre community. River is a graduating student from Concordia University of Edmonton, CUE, completing a 3 Year Bachelor of Arts in Music & Drama. They began in music, playing cello throughout middle and high school where they found a love of cello and of the arts. They began private lessons at CUE in cello, piano, voice, joined choir, and began exploring theatre more. Since then, they have delved into the backstage world, primarily in stage management. They have developed organizational and leadership skills, as well as learn paperwork skills, how to best distribute information, and interact with varying other roles in the theatre. They have assisted new ASMs learn the world of stage management and get started each semester, always there for questions and guidance along the way. In the remainder of their semester, they will be diving into design and more backstage processes.

Azalea dove head first into musical theatre in high school after falling in love with the art form. In their university career, they got more experience with musicals as well as straight plays including getting the opportunity to work alongside playwright and director Glenda Stirling as the assistant director for her play "Deep Dive".
Azalea did a semester abroad in England where they got hands-on experience learning about and experimenting with different theatrical techniques from theatre companies around the world. While there, they got to play Orpheus in a devised retelling of “Jason and the Argonauts” through outdoor theatre.
As a gymnastics coach, Azalea is adaptable, dependable, and a strong leader. They are a quick memorizer knowing almost 100 digits of pi, can read sheet music, and also play the ukulele.
After so much valuable training, they are so excited to finally be entering the professional acting and theatre world!

Nicole is a 2024 Graduate of the University of Lethbridge’s Dramatic Arts – Tech/Design program, who specialized in stage management. Her favourite experiences as a Stage Manager include A Dinner Party, A Night at the Grand Guignol, The Little Prince, Jesus Christ Superstar (University of Lethbridge) and Zauber (Centre Artistique International Roy Hart). Nicole’s post-graduation plans involve seeking out opportunities to apprentice in stage management and gain experience working with and for professional theatre companies. Mark Guerrero is an actor and singer from Grande Prairie, Alberta. Mark has trained under some of Canada’s most respected instructors including David Ley, Mike Kennard, Lin Snelling, Alison Matthews, and many more. Select university credits include: Chet in ROUGH MAGIC, Agamemnon in TROILUS & CRESSIDA, Jim in THE PRETTY TRAP, and the title role in EVERYBODY. Before his training in the BFA Acting program, Mark had never performed in a play. Instead, he performed in operas. Opera credits include: Speaker in THE MAGIC FLUTE, Belcore in THE ELIXIR OF LOVE, Carlino in DON PASQUALE and the title role in THE ENCHANTED PIG– all performed in their original languages. In 2023, Mark received the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal in recognition of his exceptional promise as an emerging Albertan theatre artist. Mark also holds a Bachelors degree in Sociology and a Certificate in Social Science Research from the University of Alberta.

Michael Watt (they/them) is an Edmonton based theatre artist and musician interested in performance, creation, production and community outreach. Michael was the 2023/24 recipient of the first annual Tom and Judy Peacocke award for achievement in and outside of the UofA’s BFA Acting program. Performance credits include: Everybody, Troilus and Cressida, and Rough Magic (Studio Theatre); White Christmas (Nuova Vocal Arts); Losing It At The End of The World (IDGAF Theatre); and The Snow Queen (Azimuth Theatre). Originally from Hyderabad, Pakistan, Ali is an emerging theatre artist based in Edmonton, AB. He started out as an actor and have also forayed into directing, playwriting, screenwriting, and stand-up comedy. He had a solid foundation in classical works and traditional ways of storytelling but has also attempted to familiarize himself with emerging movements in contemporary theatre and theatre by diverse storytellers.

He looks forward to connecting and collaborating with storytellers across the board to learn more about the art form, technique, and newer ways. He is thankful to his professors at the UofA for their continuous support and guidance through these years.

Kade Carter is a Queer trans-masculine theatre artist. While they consider themself a director first, he has a great love for every role in theatre production he's tried so far. He enjoys getting to wear as many hats as possible. as it brings so many new perspectives and opportunities. Kade has a particular interest in telling and sharing queer stories, which feels especially vital now as transphobia and homophobia are on the rise again. Recently, they have found great joy in intimacy direction and creating brave spaces for actors to feel their most confident in very vulnerable work. He is also an exotic pet enthusiast and owns an axolotl, a tarantula and a pac-man frog (as well as a very sweet black cat)!

Sam Daly (he/they) is a local Edmonton actor. Sam has been performing in shows for over 7 years, including the Grindstone Theatre’s production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” and MacEwan’s “Sunday In The Park With George”. He has also helped produce and star in an original show at the Edmonton Fringe Festival in 2023. From a young age, Sam always loved to perform and put on shows for his friends and family, and was inspired to give theatre a try after watching the film version of “Les Miserables”. While not at school or at rehearsals, Sam likes to play and write music, and hang out with his dog, Stanley.

Emily Berard (she/her) is an emerging mixed Métis actor from Treaty 6 territory. Performing is something she has always been very passionate about and is very grateful to have furthered her love of acting by studying at the University of Alberta in the BA Drama program. Outside of acting, Emily enjoys being outdoors, camping, and playing hockey. She is very interested in pursuing a career in TV and film, along with continuing theatre. As an Indigenous actor, it is extremely important to her that there is more Indigenous representation present within mainstream media.

Jeannine Naboye Kroening (she/her) is a Filipina-Canadian artist, creator, aspiring arts administrator and eggs benedict enthusiast. She holds a Theatre Arts Diploma with MacEwan University, and is currently finishing up her BA in Drama at the University of Alberta and minor in Arts and Cultural Management at MacEwan University. For over 15 years, she has dedicated her time with the Karilagan Dance Society teaching and dancing Filipino Folk dance. She has performed with the organization in many parts of the world such as Spain, Philippines, Italy and most recently, Hawaii. In the long run, she hopes to create collaboration and opportunities for the underrepresented voices to express and celebrate their stories.

Michaela is an emerging artist and educator based out of Edmonton. She grew up on Vancouver Island and moved to Edmonton after graduation to pursue drama. Elyse Roszell (they/them) is an emerging queer actor, writer, and circus artist located in Amiskwacî-wâskahikan, colonially known as Edmonton. They are committed to the ideals of dexterity in craft, rigour in practice, and honesty in storytelling and intend to involve themself with boundary-pushing Canadian work both on stage and on-screen as their career progresses. Kailey Leong is a student at the University of Calgary pursuing a BFA in drama. Kailey has been involved in multiple mainstages at the U of C, most recently as part of the ensemble of Lights Out this past winter. She also enjoyed exploring mask work at the Festival of Animated Objects last year and being part of the ensemble of Tao of the World. Outside the theatre, Kailey loves music, sings and plays the violin, and likes to read. Stories have always fascinated her, and being immersed in the world of a book has always been her favourite feeling. It is also why she loves theatre so much. To be able to immerse herself in another world and share that world with others.

Sarah is an emerging artist and recent graduate from the University of Lethbridge’s BFA program with a little over a decade of performance experience. Coming from a background in musical theatre and show choir, Sarah has grown to love all facets of theatre. As a performer, recent credits include The Little Prince and A Seussified Christmas Carol at the UofL. Throughout her education, shows, and classes, she has found a love for TYA, clown, puppetry, and physical theatre. When not onstage, she can be found backstage in roles like direction, stage management, props, sets, and sound. Recent experiences include assistant directing Elf: The Musical with New West Theatre and Sound and Follow Spot Operator for Kinky Boots at Front Row Centre Players.
