The material provides a basic skeleton of theatre operations intended to confirm your current practices and spark new ideas.

Part One examines the business of theatre and discusses a range of topics including: how to incorporate and register a theatre society; how to form a board of directors and membership; how to manage your finances and box office; and how to market and promote your productions.

Part Two offers more practical advice on how to choose your productions with your community and audience in mind and how to form an effective producing staff, including basic delegation of tasks. The appendices provide a comprehensive listing of plays produced recently by Theatre Alberta’s community theatre members, a glossary of basic theatre terminology, and a production schedule template.

COST: $10 for members of Theatre Alberta; $15 for non-members. Contact Us for more information.
