To our Members:
THEATRE ALBERTA STAFF UPDATES
More hellos and goodbyes at Theatre Alberta!
We are pleased to welcome back Dennie Hamaliuk as our new Office & Membership Coordinator. Many of you will remember Dennie as our Dramaworks program assistant from last summer.
Originally from Medicine Hat, Dennie has been an Edmonton resident for more than 10 years. A recent grad of MacEwan University's Arts and Cultural Management program, Dennie was most recently working with the Edmonton Arts Council. Dennie is passionate about the arts and is thrilled to back at Theatre Alberta. She will replace Clarice Eckford, who was offered a position with MLA Derron Bilous' constituency office.
Sadly we are also saying goodbye to Frazer Andrews, Theatre Alberta Programmer since 2013. Frazer has accepted a new position with Athabasca University, and is moving to Athabasca with family. We wish Frazer all the best in this new chapter of his career!

ARTSTREK 2015 - THANK YOU!
This week we welcomed 107 students to Exploration I, the first week of Artstrek 2015, and we will have more than 200 more students coming to Red Deer College before we are through. Now that Artstrek is officially underway, we have a number people and organizations we would love to thank for supporting this year's program...
Artstrek gave me something nothing else could. It gave me true friends: friends that understood my interests and problems. It gave me so much confidence and taught me that you’re not alone when it comes to [being passionate about] acting, singing, and dancing. …To me, Artstrek is home.

CENOVUS ENERGY
In 2015, Artstrek is celebrating its 55th year of operation in Alberta, a grand tradition of theatre education in this province. And this summer, we also celebrate our special partnership with Cenovus Energy.
In 2012, Cenovus Energy began its relationship with us by providing a $5,000 donation to support our Artstrek Scholarship Program, which provides additional subsidies to Artstrek program fees to students in financial need. In 2013, Cenovus Energy donated $75,000, allocated over three years, to support Theatre Alberta as we expanded Artstrek into a three-week program and increased student capacity by 30%. The generous donation provided by Cenovus Energy supported our efforts to expand the program without raising program fees for parents.
Cenovus believes in supporting young people in the communities where they live and work by helping them build the skills they need to reach their full potential. They recognize that partnering with community organizations and investing in programs that focus on opportunities for youth has a positive impact and provides them with the skills they need to build a bright future.
Thank you Cenovus Energy for your support of Artstrek. Click here to read more about Artstrek's relationship with Cenovus Energy.
