To our Members:

Notes for November:

Hello!

I’m Becca Barrington and I’m very excited to return to Theatre Alberta. You might remember speaking with me back in 2011 when I was busy organizing the Playbill poster as Theatre Alberta’s Summer Programs Assistant. This time around, I’m in the Library and am very happy to explore the stacks, collect fines, and help you find the perfect play or audition piece!

When I’m not busy here at TA (or reading all the plays I’ve signed out to myself) you can find me working with GeriActors, Bring It Up Theatre, Catasterismi Theatre, and Kids on the Block (Edmonton Epilepsy Association).

Becca and SolveigTheatre Alberta Librarians:
Becca and Solvieg

I’m looking forward to meeting you all, and don’t hesitate to contact me with any library-related questions!

All the best,

Becca Barrington
Librarian

THEATRE ALBERTA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR A 2013 TOP 40 UNDER 40

Theatre Alberta is pleased to share that our own Executive Director, Keri Mitchell, was honoured as one of Avenue Magazine Edmonton's Top 40 Under 40.

Keri Mitchell and Marie Gynane-Willis at Avenue Edmonton's 2013 Top 40 Under 40 celebration
Theatre Alberta Executive Director, Keri Mitchell, with her predecessor and current Artstrek Director, Marie Gynane-Willis, at Avenue Magazine Edmonton's 2013 Top 40 Under 40 celebration.

Every year, Avenue Magazine in Calgary and in Edmonton recognizes the most exceptional young community leaders in Alberta’s two largest cities. Both Top 40 Under 40 lists honour individuals under the age of 40 who are excelling in their careers, giving back to the community and raising the profiles of Calgary and Edmonton.

"It was such an honour to be nominated," says Keri. "We come to the theatre to work with some of the most creative, curious, and generous artists there are, and we inherit the traditions and legacies of those that came before us. I am privileged in my job to have many opportunities to proudly proclaim what an honour it is to serve Alberta's incredible theatre community."

Keri was chosen as part of the 2013 Class for Avenue Edmonton. Click here to read Keri’s Top 40 article in Avenue Magazine Edmonton. Other representatives of the theatre community honoured this year are Ellen Chorley (Edmonton), Michelle Minke (Calgary), and Vicki Stroich (Calgary).

"...And it's so cool that FOUR WOMEN from the Alberta theatre community are on the lists this year," Keri adds.

Congratulations to all of the Top 40 Under 40 recipients!
