To our Members:

Notes for September

Hi Theatre Albertans.

I’m David van Belle, the editor of All Stages - Theatre Alberta’s tri-annual source for information about what’s happening in theatre communities across the province. In my spare time I’m also the co-Artistic Director of Ghost River Theatre in Calgary.

We’ve just released the Fall 2012 issue of All Stages, which marks the beginning of the magazine’s fourth year!

DvB

The current issue focuses on theatre outreach, highlighting the things that Alberta theatre artists are doing to engage communities outside of the theatre—health care professionals, at-risk youth, the elderly, the Deaf community and more.

You should have received your issue by now—I hope you enjoy it! (If you want to start receiving All Stages all you need to do is become a member of Theatre Alberta. It's easy to join or renew online - visit theatrealberta.com/membership to sign up, and we'll send you the current issue today!)

David van Belle
Editor, All Stages - Alberta's Theatre Magazine

“Your audience gives you everything you need. They tell you. There is no director who can direct you like an audience."

~ Fanny Brice

WELCOME MAURA PENN TO THEATRE ALBERTA

Maura

Theatre Alberta is excited to welcome and introduce our new Office Administrator/ Executive Assistant - Maura Penn.

Maura has been involved in the performing arts in one way or another for the past two and a half decades. When not administrating the Theatre Alberta office, Maura is currently enrolled in the Arts & Cultural Management program at Grant MacEwan University, continuing an education that originally started in the Theatre program at the University of Manitoba.

Maura’s favourite performance, however, is being a mother to two children, which continually involves all aspects of theatre arts on a daily basis, most notably in a director role.

Maura has been in the office since August and if you have phoned Theatre Alberta recently, you've probably already spoken to her on the phone. Feel free to contact Maura about Theatre Alberta membership and any general questions about Theatre Alberta operations. Email her at theatreab@theatrealberta.com. Welcome to the Theatre Alberta family, Maura!
