To our Members:

Notes for April

Whoa. That's not Keri...

Actually you won't see Keri's pic here for a little while as we've decided to use this space as an opportunity for you to get to know the rest of Theatre Alberta's staff a bit better. And, since I'm the one who builds this monthly enews, I'm first!

My name is Aaron and I'm Theatre Alberta's Communications and Marketing Coordinator. You interact with me more than you may realize. Any time you visit our website, our Facebook page or Twitter feed (@TheatreAlberta), more than likely you're reading something that I've posted.

Contact me about our website, about Theatre Alberta's Playbill, about advertising with us and about how your membership with Theatre Alberta can serve you or your company's information and promotional needs.

Talbot

I'd like to extend a special invitation to Drama Teachers in the province to contact me. I'd like to know more about how Theatre Alberta can evolve to better serve you and your students' needs. Below you'll note in our Artstrek 2012 update how quickly the program is filling up. As we intend to add a 3rd week to Artstrek 2013, we want to know more about how to reach your students and let them know about this wonderful program!

I'm very excited to see how many of you have started to embrace our new Classifieds feed. Every month there are anywhere from five to 15 Classified listings that are never posted in Buzz. These listings are ones that are posted and expire (i.e. their internal deadline comes and goes) in between emailing each Buzz. If you have not yet bookmarked theatrealberta.com/classifieds, "liked" us on Facebook or followed us on Twitter, you may be missing out.

Finally, I'd like to use this opportunity to encourage all of you to vote in the provincial election on April 23rd. It is so important for the theatre community to advocate how important this industry is to our province and our quality of life. ArtsVote Calgary has a dedicated page on their website for the 2012 election where you can find out more about each party's Arts platform.

Thanks for reading Theatre Buzz. I look forward to hearing from you!

Aaron Talbot
Communications and Marketing Coordinator

“If I’m watching the rehearsal of one of my own plays, I want to be certain it’s playing out with as much alacrity as my conceit allows."

The 100 Angels of Theatre Alberta campaign required theatre patrons and lovers who believe in a strong and united Albertan theatre community to come forward.

And come forward you have. We did it! Thank you so much for all of your support.

In total we received 113 donations between December 2011 and March 31, 2012 (our fiscal year-end)... and apparently there are still more coming in the mail! We also received donations from Cara Brown, Richard O’Brien, S. Busby & J.P Fournier, and Keith Ewasiuk, who missed the deadline but contribued to our campaign nonetheless.

In case you were wondering, Simon Mallett of Calgary was our 100th Angel. Click here to view all of our donors, along with some absolutely beautiful quotes about why our Angels donated to this campaign.

We are overwhelmed and so exceedling grateful. Thank you again, from all of us at Theatre Alberta.
