Theatre Alberta is now a registered Charity!

An election is coming. Universal peace is declared and the foxes have a sincere interest in prolonging the lives of the poultry.

What's New at TA

IT'S CASINO TIME AGAIN!

Mark your calendars for January 17 and 18, 2011. Theatre Alberta will be holding its casino at the Baccarat Casino -- conveniently located in downtown Edmonton. Theatre Alberta is looking for existing or new members to volunteer. Please contact the office and we’ll be happy to give you more information. Don’t worry if you’ve never worked a casino before (or if you’ve never stepped foot in one!), there are a variety of easy roles to fill. You’ll be having fun with friends, meeting new members, and helping ensure Theatre Alberta receives vital funding. All volunteers receive credit towards their Theatre Alberta membership! Call us at 780-422-8162 (toll free 1-888-422-8160) or email us at theatreab@theatrealberta.com to volunteer.

The Library Catalogues are now called Library Indexes
If you’ve ever used Theatre Alberta’s library catalogues, you know they’re a great resource for finding scripts. The alphabetized lists contain a brief description of each play, the subject(s), and the number of characters required to put on a performance. They even include how many male and female actors are needed.

Since these library catalogues sometimes get confused with our online catalogue, which is a searchable database of everything we have in our collection, we have decided to change the name ‘Library Catalogues’ to ‘Library Indexes’. If you haven’t had a chance to use the indexes yet, have a look and you may be surprised at the amount of information available to you.

Library Donation
Thank you to Jeremy Dix-Hart and to St. Albert Children’s Theatre for the donations of books.

LIBRARY AND OFFICE HOURS

The library and office will be closed and the drop box unavailable October 9 - 11 for Thanksgiving. We will re-open October 12.

NEW ROSEBUD CENTRE: CULTURAL OASIS ON THE PRAIRIE

“Rosebud’s at an intersection on the road where all of the best of Alberta comes together. I can assure you there’s nowhere quite like it. Our little hamlet really is still a bit of a secret, but something special is happening here,” said Colin Jackson, Board Chair of the Rosebud Theatre and Rosebud School of the Arts, a focal point of this hamlet of about 100 people, which is undergoing a $5-million expansion known as the Rosebud Centre.
