Donating your scripts
Theatre Alberta is pleased to receive script donations, but please keep in mind that we can only accept published plays, in very good condition. If you have scripts that you think might be of use to us, please contact the librarians before you send them.

THE COMMUNITY REMEMBERS...

Larry Yachimec
Our dearest friend, Larry Yachimec: Husband, Father, and gifted performer passed away peacefully at home in Barrie, Ontario on Sunday, August 1, 2010. Wife Jill and children Isabella and Joe were at his side. We mourn his passing. We celebrate his unique ability to amaze and astound us all!          - Daryl Shuttleworth, Larry's close friend

Rick Koski
On June 11, 2010, Roderick William “Rick” Koski of Whitecourt, AB passed away peacefully at the age of 58 years.

Rick was a longtime member of Theatre Alberta and a great supporter of the arts in his community and throughout the province through his association with the Alberta Drama Festival Association. Rick will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and colleagues in the theatre community.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Echo Society, Box 2096, Whitecourt, AB T7S 1P7 or Friends of Whitecourt Society (Hospital Auxiliary), 20 Sunset Boulevard, Whitecourt, AB T7S 1M8.

CAMP SPOTLIGHT - OverActing Imaginations

August 20 to 22, 2010 - Edmonton

Youth ages 12-18 are invited to participate in workshops on articulation and projection, improvisation, stage combat, auditioning and Theatre of the Oppressed led by fantastic instructors like Ellen Chorley (Northern Light Theatre and Fringe Theatre Adventures), Jan Taylor (Kompany Family Theatre) and Paul 'Sparky' Johnson (Drama Professor at Augustana University College). In the studios at the Walter Carsen Centre for The National Ballet of Canada, Rex Harrington will teach a ballet class to dancers from The National Ballet as well as registered participants. FAVA is excited to be teaming up with the City of Edmonton's Movies on the Square this summer. One short film by a FAVA filmmaker will have the opportunity to be screened before the feature that weekend on a 3-storey high inflatable screen.
