What are Theatre Alberta’s Classifieds?
Classifieds is Alberta’s premiere online theatre listings sharing service. We publish and share opportunities submitted by our members and the wider theatre community.
Classifieds listings include auditions, jobs, workshops, classes, calls for submissions, volunteer opportunities, events, fundraisers, performance or rehearsal space, and other miscellaneous listings.
Classifieds are primarily reserved for live theatre initiatives and/or those initiatives that primarily benefit those working in the Albertan theatre industry.
How does Theatre Alberta share Classifieds listings with the theatre community?
We publish ads on our website RSS feed (featured on the home page of www.theatrealberta.com and at theatrealberta.com/classifieds) and share each listing on our Facebook page, Twitter feed (@TheatreAlberta), and our monthly enews, Theatre Buzz (with more than 3,000 subscribers across Alberta).
How do I publish a Classifieds listing to Theatre Alberta’s website?
Visit theatrealberta.com/classifieds/submit to publish a Classified ad.
Publishing an ad through Theatre Alberta is a member-exclusive privilege. Non-members must pay $40 per ad to use the service. For more information about Theatre Alberta membership, visit theatrealberta.com/membership.
If you want to share a news release through our website, this is always free. (Be aware that we are pretty picky about what constitutes “news” in our feed.) Please note that we share news items in our Theatre News section of our blog, not through our Classifieds category. How do I find out what’s playing in Alberta?
Theatre Alberta’s online Playbill is the most comprehensive play listing service in Alberta. Nearly every professional, community (amateur) and post-secondary production playing in our province for the current theatre season is listed in a month-by-month format on our Playbill.
Audiences can find production information by searching one or a combination of: Company, Region and/or Month. Productions automatically show up on Theatre Alberta’s main Playbill page (www.theatrealberta.com/playbill) or on our Mobile Playbill site (m.theatrealberta.com) during the month(s) that they are playing. Audiences can also find detailed inforamation about theatre festivals, improv/sketch/variety productions, touring theatre productions, and youth-directed programs, productions and school tours.
Our website also has a “Playing in Alberta This Week” widget that appears in the right hand column of nearly every web page throughout our site. Shows will appear there during their respective runs.
You can also browse for shows playing in Alberta in our What’s On blog. Similar to our popular Classifieds service, our What’s On blog includes detailed show descriptions, pictures and other media (YouTube video, audio files, etc.), show dates, and box office information.
