We are excited to announce a new call-out for performance submissions for a brand new iteration of our winter Cabaret, In-Draft!
For the past two years, Postmarginal Edmonton (PME) has partnered with Mile Zero Dance, co-producing a multidisciplinary cabaret as part of their Connections//Collisions cabaret series. Guided by the question: “What accommodations are required to provide equal performance opportunities for artists of different backgrounds?”
This year we are expanding the process to support diverse performing artists with a four-month performance and dramaturgical mentorship to create and present 20-minute pieces that cross artistic disciplines, linguistic modalities and cultural identities.
For a refresher on values and guiding principles, please visit: https://postmarginal.ca/about/
At Mile Zero Dance Society (9931 78 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB) on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27th at 7:30 PM and will be hosted by Josh Languedoc and Chris Dodd.
The mentorship opportunity will take place from Late October/November 2026 until the cabaret performances.
Mentorship Includes:
Mentorship includes 15 hours of one-on-one dedicated time and space for artists to work with their assigned mentors.
10 hours of studio space for continued individualized work in between sessions and 5 hours of self-directed work.
What we are looking for:
5 artistic projects (a combination of solos, duos and trios)
Multi-disciplinary and diverse
Engaging within the themes of Postmarginal, including sustainability, inclusion, intercultural dialogue and multilingual practices
Maximum of 20 minutes per performance
Priority will be given to artists who have not participated in Postmarginal’s iteration of Connections//Collisions in the past.
