Auditions (Edmonton): SKNHEAD – Found Festival 2026

SKNHEAD with Found Festival 2026 is looking to *virtually* audition!

Please send in a prepared contemporary monologue of your choice, or reach out to halfbloodtheatre@gmail.com if you’d like to prepare a monologue from the script.

This is a paid opportunity, aligned with equity standards. Actors of all professional backgrounds and abilities are encouraged to apply.

Deadline: 12:00 AM, May 30th
With possible virtual Zoom callbacks as needed.

SKNHEAD follows a group of inner-city kids searching for belonging, only to find themselves drawn into groups that lead to insidious ends. The play interrogates masculinity, whiteness, systems of violence, generational trauma, and neglect. Investigating how the search for connection can lead to devastating consequences, particularly for those living on the margins. It is a story for culturally disconnected mixed-race latchkey kids who learned too early that the world isn’t fair, and perhaps never meant to be.

We’re looking for adult actors who can tap into a youthful energy.

Characters to cast:
John, 20, Mixed Cree, Brother to Michael and Bea
Someone who grew up too quickly. Was previously incarcerated, now sober. In the process of reconnecting to his culture.

Michael, 14, Mixed Cree, Brother to John and Bea
Someone in the process of growing up too quickly. Smart enough. Went to provincials for wrestling the year prior. Couldn’t pick himself out of a lineup.

Dates of Engagement:
June 17 – July 12th

An estimated 30-35 hours a week commitment, rehearsal hours during the day, recommended to take time off work to focus on the contract.

Performances on July 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th with Found Festival.
