Please allow a few days for response. Preparation instructions will be given with a response. A familiarity with some of the inspiration would be helpful. (Terminator Movies, 1988 Beauty and the Beast TV show, Hamlet or other Shakespearean plays)

Play description: It’s a little Shakespeare, a little Terminator, a little world below and a little upside down. One of the greatest female action heroes of all time, never ever meant to be an action hero, and really never meant to get pigeonholed. Can playing Sarah Connor hold a candle to playing Portia, or Imogene, or should there have been another role for her completely.
Characters
Linda: Actress. Experienced huge success and fame, and then experienced more satisfaction acting in obscurity. We all wonder “what if” sometimes. Female (or female presenting) 50-70 years old.

Hamlet/Protector/Guildenstern (male or male presenting, 25-40 years old)
Hamlet: We can debate whether Hamlet was cunning or crazy, well-intentioned or self-destructive, but certainly in this play he is annoying.
Protector: Someone had to come back from Judgement Day and tell Sarah a murderous android from the wasted future was after her. He brought a lot of despair with him, only to land in Shakespeare’s goofy comedies.
Rosencrantz/Guildenstern: No one has ever been able to figure out which is which, but imagine their surprise when they happen upon Hamilton instead of Hamlet.

Terminator/Beast/Rosencrantz (30-45 years old, male or male presenting)
Terminator: A robot of few words and a strange accent. Imposing Presence will be important.
Beast: Few lines, but says them with a purring growl.

Rehearsals: August 1-13, Tech Rehearsal scheduled by Edmonton Fringe.
Performances: Scheduled by Edmonton Fringe, August 14-23
Notes: Payment will be a portion of the profits from Fringe therefore we are not able to engage CAEA/Union members.
