Workshops (Edmonton): Chakacha Workshop with Ladan – Grindstone Theatre School

Introduction to Chakacha! Chakacha is a traditional coastal Kenyan movement that originated in Mombasa. It has a history in Swahili and Muslim religious rituals. It’s normally taught to girls as part of preparation for marriage, part of the sex education. A proud part of Kenyan culture, Chakacha was at one time banned for 20years because of its powerful sexual nature. I look forward to sharing this meaningful, transformative tradition. Join me and unlock that God energy. Step out of your comfort zone and into the empowered Devine within!
