Volunteer (Edmonton): Ushers for Anthem of Life, Part 1 – Theatre Prospero

Theatre Prospero is seeking volunteer ushers for their upcoming production of Anthem of Life, Part 1. There will be sixteen performances between June 18th – July 6th.

Written by local playwright Tololwa Mollel and adapted from South African Poet Mazisi Kunene’s Anthem of the Decades, this production promises to captivate audiences with its rich tapestry of culture. Performed by a cast of local, national, and international performers, Anthem of Life, Part 1 interweaves South, East, and West African and South Asian music and dance, epic-scale mask and puppetry, and African-style storytelling to create a confidently inclusive piece of new Canadian Classical Theatre.

As a volunteer usher, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting patrons in accessing their seats
  • Monitoring patrons during the show
  • Assisting patrons with re-entry to the show, if they need to leave during the performance
  • Assisting with any emergency situations, in the unlikely event that they are to happen

As a thank you for volunteering, Theatre Prospero will provide you with: An invitation for you and a guest to see the dress rehearsal of the show for free on Tuesday, June 18

You must be aged 16 or older to volunteer in this role. Training will be provided on site at the start of each shift. You can sign up for as many shifts as you would like.
