News (National): SURVEY about Spektrix and Theatre Manager, Other Box Office and CRM Software – The Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance

The Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance (GVPTA) is conducting a survey open to theatre companies across the Canada about CRM and box office software, particularly in relation to the recent news that Theatre Manager, one of the most popular CRM and box office software used by performing arts organizations and venues, is being shut down, and Spektrix has acquired the clients and will be transitioning them over the coming months.

Many arts organizations have expressed concerns, including the resources that will be required to transition to a new platform, the capacity of the new providers to transition clients smoothly and efficiently, and potential future fee increases.

GVPTA has developed a brief survey to better understand:

  • Who is affected by the closure of Theatre Manager, and the transition to Spektrix.
  • Their questions and concerns about the transition.
  • What software they’re using, if not Theatre Manager.
  • Their primary needs with their box office software (eg. general admission, seat assignments, CRM, dynamic pricing, donor management, etc)
  • Their internal capacity related to box office (eg. do they have a dedicated staff person or team to manage box office, databases, and/or CRMs?)

Alberta theatre companies are welcome to participate here: https://survey.gvpta.ca/zs/WfBqXb

Closing date for responses is Thursday, May 23.
