PLAY SYNOPSIS:
Aging siblings and unfortunate roommates, Vanya and Sonia, bicker daily in their family home. When their movie star sister, Masha, comes home with a “scandalously” young man on her arm and a plan to sell the house, the sibling rivalries escalate in an absurd, hilarious, and simply Chekhovian fashion.

CHARACTERS:
Walterdale is committed to diverse, inclusive casting. For every role, the director will consider all submissions. Ages ranges are approximate and somewhat flexible.

  • VANYA (50s), Aware he is aging but resigned to his life, more or less, at least compared to Sonia.
  • SONIA (50s), Vanya’s adopted sister, living with him in Bucks County, discontent, upset, regretful.
  • MASHA (50s), Vanya’s sister, glamorous and successful actress who goes gallivanting around the world.
  • CASSANDRA (Any age), Vanya and Sonia’s housekeeper and apparent soothsayer.
  • NINA (20s), Sincere would-be actress, visiting her aunt and uncle next door, starstruck and energetic.
  • SPIKE (20s), Masha’s new much younger companion, aspiring actor, self-absorbed.
