Do you have a passion for puppetry, the arts and community issues, such as mental health and wellness, education and climate action and how this relates to our younger generation? Are you interested in videography and film? Then volunteer with us!
WP Puppet Theatre has created a new puppet, aptly named WHY. This puppet is used to spark and ignite the curiosity within children, a campaign for children to interact with puppets in an engaging way in order to explore their knowledge and understanding of the world. We are looking for a volunteer to film WHY puppet answering the questions submitted by children. The answer to the question will be provided to you, but we need someone quirky and creative to create and film quick video answers (approximately 1-2 minutes long). Initially this will be done in the WP Puppet Theatre basement under supervision, after which, the videos can be filmed at home and submitted to WP Puppet Theatre for editing.
We post one new video a month to WHY’s YouTube channel and would like to get enough submissions in bulk so we have them ready to go for posting as needed. We are looking for a volunteer who can commit to filming the answer to at least 12 questions. This volunteer position could also assist with content creation for social media reels, using WPTS puppets and brainstorming ideas with our Artistic Director.
