Cryptic Characters is hiring a part-time/casual Character Host.
Cryptic Characters is an escape room that specializes in providing immersive storytelling and game play for our players. As we prepare to open our third Escape Experience we find that we need to expand our team.
Our Character Hosts, in costume and character, introduce groups of players to the story of their adventure, while also providing critical information. The host then watches the players via the security camera system ensuring that safety rules are being followed, and providing hints in character via walkie talkie/intercom.
In addition to running the escape rooms, Character Hosts perform a variety of customer service duties including checking in guests, explaining gameplay rules, taking bookings, answering the phones and accepting payment. Professionalism and salesmanship is expected at all times while interacting with guests.

The starting wage for this position is $17.50 per hour.

At this time we are able to offer casual hours, 5-10 hours per week. These hours would primarily be on weekends and sometimes weekday evenings. As business increases, hours may also have the potential to increase.
Acting training/experience, particularly improv, is an asset. As is experience in customer service and sales.
