AUDITION NOTICE
Lunchbox Theatre is happy to invite audition submissions for our production of Kisapmata by Bianca Miranda, co-produced by Chromatic Theatre. Directed by Gina Puntil. We are able to consider Alberta residents only for this production.
ABOUT THE PLAY
The Tagalog word “kisapmata” means “blink of an eye”. It’s also the title of a punk banger by Filipino band, Rivermaya. Inspired by this song, this play tells the love story of two Filipina women – one living in the diaspora and the other, born and raised in the Philippines. Through intimate vignettes, we see the longing, the diving in, and eventually, the letting go.

Selected actors will be sent an audition invitation and instructions to prepare your audition material. You will also be asked to present 2-4 minutes on something that is important to you or that you feel passionate about followed by a conversation on what you have chosen to share with us. This could be whatever pierces you as a person and/or artist. This will also be followed by working a side chosen from the script with the director – it might be cold and that is something that we take into account. The audition process should last about 20-25 min for each person.
