If you are looking for fabric for costumes or props for an upcoming or only yet-dreamed-of production, be sure to check our Ujamaa Grandmas’ annual Fabric and Yarn Sale, scheduled from Friday, May 5th to Sunday, May 7th, at the Garrison Curling Club, 2288- 47 Avenue SW in Calgary.
We have held this sale for 15 years to raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s work in Africa. It is an extraordinary event, with thousands of pieces of fabric of all descriptions: wools, silk, satin, cotton, blends, fleece, sequins, lace, tulle, drapery and upholstery, and everything else.
In addition, we have notions of all kinds (ribbon, zippers, buttons, thread). Everything is donated by individuals or companies and is priced to sell (most fabric from $2 to $5 a metre) and zippers for 10 cents! Tickets to the event are available at EVENTBRITE for only $2 admission, and tickets are only required for Friday.
