Vertigo Theatre (Calgary) – rehearsals begin October 31, 2023; opens November 23, 2023; closes December 17, 2023.

PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION
Famed mystery novelist Andrew Wyke lures his wife’s lover to his country home and convinces him to stage a robbery of her jewelry. As the stakes rise, it sets off a chain of events that leaves audiences trying to decipher who is truly in control.

ROLE TO BE CAST

  • Andrew Wyke male identifying age 40’s – 50’s
    A writer of detective stories. Andrew comes up with a plan to humiliate Milo for daring to try to take away his wife. He creates a complex game that the two men will play. Andrew encourages Milo to stage a fake break-in (in which Milo is supposed to steal valuables from Andrew so the two men can collect insurance money). But Andrew has a secret plot in mind that doesn’t go as planned. British.
  • Milo Tindle male identifying age 30’s
    Meets with Andrew to set the record straight that Andrew’s estranged wife Marguerite and he will be getting married. After Milo finds himself humiliated in Andrew’s game, Milo seeks revenge in his own game of cat and mouse subterfuge. British.
  • Detective Dopler non-gender specific age 30’s
    Inspector Doppler, discovers clues that incriminate Andrew in the “so-called murder”. British.

CASTING PROCESS
Selected candidates will be provided with scenes to work from during the auditions.

Vertigo Theatre has a responsibility to create work spaces where people are comfortable in a creation process, and can be themselves in every capacity. HOW TO SUBMIT
We would like to request a submission package consisting of:

  • headshot
  • resume

*We will not be collecting hard copies of headshots and resumes at the audition. The audition panel will receive them all electronically.
