
We’re holding auditions for the role of Cary in Lizard Boy which will be presented at the Edmonton Fringe Festival 2023. The role is for a Caucasian (important to the story) male identified actor between the ages of 18-35

Minimum Honorarium of $500 + profit sharing.

Synopsis:
Lizard Boy: The Musical is an indie-rock musical with book, lyrics, and music by Justin Huertas. The musical follows the story of Trevor, a young man who has lizard scales for skin as he embarks on his first date in a year but winds up finding out he has superpowers and in a fight for his life. The musical was inspired by works such as X-Men, Spider-Man and the 2006 musical Spring Awakening
Our upcoming production will involve a fully immersive multimedia experience, complete with interactive projections and live videos.
Roles:
CARY, (20-35) he/him, queer, charismatic and confident singer-songwriter whose goofiness makes him charming and whose emotional literacy makes him sexy AF, played by a white person.(Important to the storyline)
Notes: Tenor, strong harmonizer, ability to play guitar an asset, intimacy been Cary and Trevor.
Audition Requirements:
For your audition, we would like you to perform a musical theatre or indie rock piece in the style of Jack Johnson or Jason Mraz. If you are good at playing the guitar (please bring it), you can show off your skills and earn bonus points! For those who prefer to sing with an accompaniment track, just bring your own music. We will have a Bluetooth speaker available to connect to.
We will also be sending sides prior to your audition to read.
