Volunteer (Alberta): WGA Board Youth Member at Large – The Writers’ Guild of Alberta

The Writers’ Guild of Alberta is looking for a youth representative to our Board of Directors. This individual should be between the ages of 18 – 30, with a strong interest in contributing to the writing community of Alberta. The Youth Member at Large serves as a full member of our Board, with all the privileges and responsibilities of a Board member. They will also be responsible for leading a youth committee devoted to identifying the needs of writers ages 18 – 30, and exploring ways to welcome them into the larger WGA community.

This work involves a time commitment of approximately 75 hours a year, including monthly board meetings, attendance at key WGA events, and work with the Youth committee. It offers unique opportunities for someone who is interested in developing leadership skills, learning about the workings of a non-profit arts organization, and getting to know the WGA community better.

Please email Blaine Newton at newtoneng@shaw.ca by Wednesday, March 1 with a brief bio if you are interested.
