StoryBook Theatre is currently a choreographer for our upcoming Spotlight program where the students will be rehearsing and performing Newsies Jr.! The successful applicant will be responsible for choreographing Newsies Jr and teaching basic skills in choreography and dance to students ages 9 to 17.
- Someone with 2+ years of post-secondary education in Fine Arts or Education (or have equivalent professional experience) and experience teaching youth and/or adults?
- Proficient in Dance?
- An organized individual who can create and follow a lesson plan using a given curriculum?
- Someone with strong communication and classroom management skills?

This is a part-time seasonal contract position. Spotlight for Teens runs on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm and Spotlight for Young People runs on Sundays from 10am to 1pm starting the weekend of February 4 until the weekend of May 13. The final two classes run from 9am to 12pm for the final dress rehearsal and performance. There are no classes the weekend of February 18 and April 7. Interested applicants must be available for at least either the Saturday or Sunday class for the full session, but do not need to be available for both.
Teachers are contracted on a course by course basis at an hourly rate of $22/hr.
