Trickster Theatre is a 43 year old company. It is the largest children’s theatre company in Alberta and has completed more than 1200 week-long residencies in schools in over 100 communities in Alberta . We create approx. 50 original shows every year, with an average cast of 300. More than 300,000 Albertans have been part of a week-long Trickster residency. We do this work all over the province and approximately 20% of the work that we do is in indigenous communities. We also have day-long curriculum based programs that support science, storytelling, and global issues via theatre.

The Office Assistant is a positive person with experience in administrative tasks and is ideally able to drive our tour vehicles and provide some production support ( everyone wears many hats in small arts organizations) .

Office Assistant specific accountabilities:
Helping with residency planning: booking hotels; organizing tours; preparing schools’ folders and documents; sending out report requests, updating reports and statistics; updating salesforce database; general office reception, payroll support.

Operation support:
Helping with the facility, vehicles; ensure all insurance data (both vehicle and equipment) is up-to-date; restocking/reorganizing: ordering supplies and maintaining inventory; organizing storage space; cleaning costumes and props; organizing equipment maintenance ; purchasing props and costumes; potentially driving the company van with a trailer to local schools or maintenance appointments.

Supporting Management overall.
This is a full time position, working mainly Monday to Friday and occasionally during weekends. This is primarily an in-office position, but there is room for a certain amount of remote work.

Applicant must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs to waist level
Class 4 driving license an asset

The position may include meetings in schools with administration and parent volunteers; a current vulnerable sector police information check is required.

Hourly rate: $18-22 depending on experience
