
Trickster Theatre is looking for 2 Indigenous Artists to join us for a 4 month internship from Feb. 1- June 9. The internship will involve multiple weeks of training as well as involvement in our week-long school residency program and our school based day-long programs. The internship will involve training in how to create short theatre pieces with students from K- 9. It will involve training in classroom management, choreography, story development, acting, directing, sound editing, lighting and props and costumes. The successful applicant will need to be able to travel for at least 6 weeks of the training. All travel costs are paid by the company. All weeks of the internship are paid.
The successful applicant will ideally have some experience in at least 2 of these fields : theatre, dance or music. No formal training is required.
This is a full time position with some flexibility to accommodate other work commitments.
Although this is a 4 month contract, we hope that the interns will return to work with the company in the fall of 2023. Most artists who work with Trickster work 8-20 weeks per year for 3-7 years. We hope you’ll return!
Trickster Theatre is a 43 year old Children’s Theatre Company. Our primary activity is the creation of original shows, created in schools in one week.
