Free workshops with Josh Languedoc exploring collective theatre creation from an Indigenous perspective.
Workshop 1: September 24, 10 AM – 4 PM
Workshop 2: September 25, 11 AM – 3 PM
Join Anishinaabe playwright, theatre creator, and educator Josh Languedoc for this free workshop exploring Indigenous theatre creation involving movement, writing, and conversations through circle gathering and discussion.
On the second day of Indigenous Theatre Creation workshops, Josh will guide participants through discussion and exploration of Indigenous theatre creation and circle based rehearsal processes.
We will be asking ourselves: what could the audition and rehearsal process look like through an Indigenous lens?
You can register for one or both workshops.
Creating Indigenous Theatre is sponsored by Theatre Alberta with funding from The Alberta Foundation for the Arts as part of the ‘Workshops by Request: Hometown Series,’ with support by Acden, Friends of Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts.
All ages and experience levels are welcome.
Please register beforehand as spaces are limited.
