Auditions (Edmonton): Community Production Class – Grindstone Theatre School

Are you looking for a collaborative and supportive place to perform and learn but don’t know where to go? Grindstone Theatre School has the perfect class for you!

This class offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a FULL theatrical production! Classes will take place twice a week for 8 weeks, and conclude in three public performances. Each class will be a rehearsal of the play, chosen by the director/instructor. Students that are cast in the show will have completed Grindstone’s 100 and 200 level acting courses or equivalent experience elsewhere.  The production will be directed by Amanda Bergen, the former Artistic Director of the Capitol Theatre and graduate of the MFA Directing program at the University of Alberta.

The class will require an audition. Auditions will be held on August 25 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm and August 28 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. These auditions will consist of 1-2 short scenes (sent to you ahead of time) read in an easy-going atmosphere. Auditions are often uncomfortable and pressurized. We will do our best to create a relaxed environment for our auditioners.
