The Campfire Anthology is currently looking to cast for our lottery Fringe show titled, Crisp Trepidation. The show will be going up this August during the Edmonton Fringe Festival 2022 season. The work will be unpaid, but we will divide up the earnings after the show finishes. Auditions will be accepted through video submission.
The synopsis of the play is as followed:
“A buddy road-trip comedy that follows a young man on a cross-province journey to deliver a goldfish to his ex-girlfriend. Aided by a cassette tape, Harry Styles, and a sassy disc jockey he drives through the static of a lonely highway to piece together what exactly went wrong in his relationship.”
In total we are looking to cast 5 actors. Everyone is encouraged to audition, regardless of ethnicity or gender identity. However, the role of DJ Kinosêw, must be played by an Indigenous actor. Please read the following character descriptions accessible through this link:

For the video submissions, simply record yourself presenting one of the sides. You only need to read for the character you are auditioning for, so don’t worry if the side includes multiple characters. Be sure to include the following in the beginning of the video:
- Your name
- Pronouns
- Role you are reading for
The deadline for video auditions is May 16th, 11:59pm. You are welcome to audition for multiple roles, just ensure you label your video(s) as shown: “yourname_charactername”. Please include your headshot and resume if available,
