Auditions (Edmonton): Fringe Show – Edmonton Musical Theatre

Edmonton Musical Theatre auditions will be taking place on Sunday May 15 from 6 – 9 p.m. Please contact General Manager, Steffni Ault at edmmusth@telus.net to book a time. It will be held at Woodcroft Community Hall – 13915 115 Avenue.

We are looking for actors aged 55 plus for this volunteer performance opportunity. This show will be workshopped with the cast and the Artistic Team. Then the material will be developed in to a scripted musical performance to run during the 2022 Fringe Festival as a BYOV show right at the Woodcroft Hall.

Please bring one song with you to the auditions. We prefer that you bring the sheet music for your song with you. You may also bring a music track on a device to hook up to our system to sing along with.

Through May and June the cast will meet once a week on a Sunday evening to workshop the show.

Through July and August we will rehearse the show on 2 weeknights, either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, depending on the cast’s choice.

During the Fringe Festival August 11 – 21, the performances will be in the evenings with some matinees on the weekends.

Edmonton Musical Theatre is a proud recipient of a Federal Government grant under the New Horizons for Seniors Program with the Department of Service Canada. This is a special project that will be exploring issues and concerns that are critical and relevant to our seniors. Their concerns, struggles and challenges will be presented in an informative and entertaining musical revue. This initiative, headed by Timothy J. Anderson as Script Writer and Director, with Brad Heintzman, as Music Director and original Composer, will be performed and shared with Seniors and those who love and care for them.

You can have an instrumental role in the development of the project which will reach out and touch many seniors and the community at large. We would be honoured to have you join us to bring your voice to the heart of the discussion.
