PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION
Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the legendary Orient Express in its tracks. By morning, the train is one passenger fewer. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, it is up to detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer before they can strike again. Adapted from Agatha Christie’s masterpiece, this non-stop thrill ride will keep you guessing until the very end.
ROLE TO BE CAST
- MARY DEBENHAM – woman late 20’s. Cunningly plays the part of a damsel in distress. English.
- GRETA OHLSSON – woman 30’s Extremely religious and conservative. Swedish.
- COUNTESS ANDRENYI – woman 20’s. Physician by training, she is exceptionally intelligent and quick witted. Actor must have skill with accents. Hungarian.
- MICHEL THE CONDUCTOR – man 40’s. Takes pride in his work. A High-status working man. Frenchman; doubles with Waiter.
- COLONEL ARBUTHNOT – man 30’s. An Army man. He is gruff and proud. Scottish; doubles with Ratchett.

CASTING PROCESS
Vertigo Theatre has a responsibility to create work spaces where people are comfortable in a creation process, and can be themselves in every capacity. COVID PROTOCOLS
Masks will be required of all artists but may be removed depending on comfort and as long as physical distancing is maintained throughout the audition. There will not be any shared equipment or objects. Vertigo Theatre requires all individuals working in our season to be fully vaccinated.

We would like to request a submission package consisting of:

- resume

*We will not be collecting hard copies of headshots and resumes at the audition. The audition panel will receive them all electronically.
*Headshots do not need to be from a professional photographer but must be a clear photo of you.

*If you are unable to submit for an in-person audition, please say so in your submission. We may be able to accommodate a virtual audition.
