AUDITIONS
Brigadoon Auditions – FEBRUARY 23-24, 27, 2022
ELOPE is thrilled to return to the stage this July! While most of our original cast is returning to complete the production, a few of our original team are unable to complete the journey to the Highlands with us. Therefore, we are auditioning for the following roles at this time.
ROLES:
Tommy Albright – An attractive man with a certain machismo, yet with a sensitive side. Gender: Male Age: 25 to 35
Archie Beaton – A kind Scot who sells fabrics. Gender: Male
Harry Beaton – The sensitive son of Archie. Gender: Male Age: 20 to 24
Charlie Dalrymple – Jean’s fiance. Gender: Male Age: 20 to 30
Stuart Dalrymple – Sells clothes in MacConnachy Square. Gender: Male Age: 30 to 40
6-8 chorus members (some opportunity for featured solos in chorus numbers, and potential understudies)
We are also casting for a small dance chorus, with speciality in highland dance preferred. These are dance roles only – no singing required.
PREPARE: A song from Broadway’s Golden Age (other Lerner & Loewe, Rogers & Hammerstein, Rogers & Hart, Cole Porter, George Gershwin). Bring sheet music in the key you are performing for our skilled accompanist, or a track downloaded to your device. Please do not sing anything from Brigadoon at the audition.
DATES/LOCATION: Auditions will be held Feb 23 and 24, at the Playhouse 10033 80 Ave NW. Dance and movement audition, as well as callbacks, will be held Feb 27.

SYNOPSIS:
Lerner and Loewe’s Brigadoon is the enchanting and beloved Broadway and West End musical that inspired the classic MGM film, and numerous productions all over the world. Featuring such standards as “Almost Like Being in Love,” “Come to Me, Bend To Me,” and “Heather on the Hill,” Brigadoon is a timeless, romantic classic which vividly brings the mystery and magic of the Scottish highlands to life.
New Yorker Tommy Albright unexpectedly arrives at the mysterious Scottish Highland village of Brigadoon, which only appears for one day every 100 years. When Tommy meets and falls in love with Fiona, a beautiful villager in this magical hamlet, he must decide whether to return to his old life, or stay in Brigadoon — forever.
Show dates are July 1-9, 2022 at ATB Arts Barns. Rehearsals will be Wednesday/Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
