Common Ground Arts Society (CGAS) is seeking an eager, self-motivated administrator to support the Producing team and Board of Directors in a temporary, part-time capacity with upcoming fundraising initiatives.
Common Ground Arts Society is a tiny but mighty arts organization getting it done on passion and grit. Based in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton) on Treaty 6 territory, we radically invite artists of all disciplines at all stages of their career to wildly experiment with process and craft. CGAS produces two major annual events (RISER Edmonton and Found Festival) and engages throughout the year in mentorship and production activities.

We’re working from the inside out to help uplift, celebrate, elevate, mentor, and springboard artists and arts workers in our community by ensuring our organization hires at least 35% IBPoC and 50% women and non-binary people in paid, professional positions by 2024.
ABOUT THE POSITION
- Developing sponsorship pitch briefs for RISER Edmonton and Found Festival;
- Identifying opportunities for program sponsorship or partnership;
- Completing preliminary application forms for selected sponsorship opportunities;
- And assisting the Producing team in developing perks, communications, and messaging for a monthly donor plan.
This position will largely be tasked with identifying and assisting with tasks for the Producing team and will not be required to lead sponsorship negotiations or stewardship. The selected candidate will report to the CGAS Co-Artistic Producers (Beth Dart and Mac Brock) and will also receive support from the Board of Directors & Fundraising Committee.
The ideal candidate has some prior experience in fundraising for arts & culture (or any other not-for-profit development sector) and strong written/verbal communication skills. Familiarity with Edmonton arts & culture is an asset but is not required.
CGAS values a flexible work environment that responds to employees’ and contractors’ needs and schedules. (We’re artists, we get it.) This is an ideal role for someone with irregular work schedules and will work remotely.
$3500 (Based on 10 hours per week for 14 weeks at $25/hour)
This is a temporary contract with a timeline of December 2021-March 2022. Start and end dates will be flexible based on the selected candidate’s schedule.
NOTE: This contract has potential for extension based on CGAS’ 2022 activities.
