SkirtsAfire is a growing theatre and multidisciplinary arts festival that features the work of women and non-binary artists in conjunction with International Women’s Day, March 3-13, 2022. We produce and present passionate, provocative, moving and entertaining performances and exhibits.
As we head into our 10th Anniversary year, our festival theme is “Tastes Like Truth.”
We will continue to monitor and respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. The safety of our artists, staff, and audience are top priority, and we are excited to welcome everyone to a safe return to live performances. We at SkirtsAfire truly believe in the magic of live theatre and performance, and are doing everything we can to continue creating our platform for women in the arts while sharing space and impact with audiences hungry for their stories.
SkirtsAfire Festival values diversity in the women we represent. We welcome submissions from women artists of all diverse backgrounds including trans women, non-binary people, all ethnicities and all abilities.
Single performers must be women or non-binary. For performance groups, women or non-binary people must be the driving force in the troupe. The theme for 2022 is “Tastes Like Truth.” Performers may need to adjust their act to align with any Covid-19 restrictions and safety protocols in place at the time of the festival.
SkirtsAfire is currently seeking artists for live performances including:
- Solo, duo and trio music performances
- A-Line Variety Show (Singers, Musicians, Dancers, Comedy Acts, Cabaret Acts, Spoken Word Artists, Magicians, and more!)
- Got an idea? We’d love to hear it! Let us know if you think of something outside-the-box that would be a great fit for SkirtsAfire!
