Walterdale Theatre is thrilled to announce Postmarginal Edmonton, a three-day workshop retreat opportunity for local artists designed to discover, test, and propose new work ethics and creative strategies for exploring differences of gender identity, dis/abilities and ethno-cultural backgrounds in the rehearsal hall, to be held September 12, 13, and 14, 2021 at Fringe Theatre Adventures. Attendees will receive honorariums.
Part workshop and part think-tank, the Edmonton retreat was developed with the input of local theatre artists, and will respond to Edmonton’s context through storytelling, dialogue, and physical workshops, continuing the work of – and enriched by – previous similar workshops in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver hosted by the Postmarginal/Modern Times Theatre group from Toronto and Montreal. While the focus will be on theatre, related disciplines are also welcome to apply.
Thank you to Postmarginal Edmonton partners Theatre Alberta, Citadel Theatre, and Fringe Theatre Adventures, and to the Edmonton Arts Council Connections and Exchanges program and to the Edmonton Community Foundation, who together will bring the Postmarginal Edmonton experience to life on September 12, 13, and 14, 2021. Deadline to register August 31, 2021.
