Live theatre continues in Fort McMurray, with submissions now open for the Summer Stages Festival, presented by the Alberta Drama Festival Association, the Fort McMurray Heritage Society, and Theatre; Just Because.
Summer Stages Festival runs August 27-28, 2021 and will feature local one-act plays and performances. The Festival will include performances at both the Heritage Shipyard and Heritage Village.
“We are so happy to be able to offer this showcase of local talent, especially after the decision to cancel the ADFA Regional and Provincial festivals in 2021,” says Alberta Drama Festival Association North Region Director Jenny Price. “Summer Stages Festival is the perfect opportunity for our community to stretch their theatrical muscles again.”
Submissions should be 10-60 minutes in length, and must be suitable for outdoor performance – AKA tech-free and family-friendly. Submissions can be sent to north@ADFA.ca. The call will remain open until July 31 or until the performance slate is full. Artists interested in non-theatrical performances are also encouraged to submit.
