Audition (Lethbridge): Seeking Queer IBPOC Actor for New Queer Canadian Play – Theatre Outré

Production Name: 333 by Jay Whitehead
Production and Rehearsal Dates: September 2021
Production Location: Lethbridge, AB.

Theatre Outré, Southern Alberta’s destination for Queer Theatre, is seeking an actor (age range 20 – 30 years old) to play the role of “Teddy” in the world premier workshop and production of the new play 333 by Jay Whitehead. 333 tells the story of the Toronto Bathhouse Raids which took place in 1981 and are often cited as the catalyst for Canada’s Pride movement.

We are accepting submissions of interest from IBPOC actors only at this time and preference will be given to those that identify under the Queer umbrella (LGBTQ2+). Please be advised that the role of “Teddy” requires nudity.

IBPOC actors from across Alberta are encouraged to submit. Interested artists should submit a recent headshot and theatre CV to co-Artistic Directors Jay Whitehead and Kathy Zaborsky at theatreoutre.lethbridge@gmail.com.

*This production is dependent upon COVID restrictions being such that we can safely meet and work together. It will be expected that all artists engaged in this show be vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the first rehearsal.
