A hockey podcast gone terribly wrong, a longstanding friendship thrown into sudden jeopardy, a birth on a distant planet, a showdown at a vet clinic, a Kijiji deal with a twist…you’ll find all of these and more in the 2020 production of Gimme 10 Minutes.

Gimme 10 Minutes is a dynamic staged reading event featuring five new ten-minute plays, all in one delightful show. This independent and unique theatrical experience began in 2016 when Calgary-based writer and editor Rona Altrows conceptualized a staged reading showcase to celebrate the art form of the ten-minute play and invited playwright and songwriter Ethan Cole to collaborate. Lisa Murphy-Lamb, director of Loft 112, a creative hive in Calgary’s East Village, has also been a vital collaborator from the start. Our usual theatrical home is Loft 112, but for 2020, our production is virtual and will take place live on Zoom.

Sarah Wheeldon will direct the staged readings. She brings a wealth of creative vitality to the table, as an accomplished actor, writer, director and singer. The plays will be performed by an immensely talented ensemble of Calgary theatre artists: Ivy Miller, Conrad Belau and Luigi Riscaldino.

There is some mature language, so viewer discretion is advised.
