The School of Creative and Performing Arts second drama production of the season, Just Like The Moon, is a devised piece of theatre created by MFA student Lizz Windnagel, the creative team and the ensemble, under supervision of Peter Balkwill.

This hysterical clown production questions the limitations of our human quirks, bodies, thoughts and desires. Can we let go of the small picture, or is it still important? Can we still love when the world is falling apart before our eyes?

Just Like The Moon is directed by MFA student Lizz Windnagel. The ensemble is made up of performers Maria Bustos and Sebastian Rueda Montez, with percussionist/foley artist Nia Devetzis. MFA student Nancy Janzig designed the set, props and lights while MFA student Lindsey Zess designed the costumes and puppets.

Considering the current state of the world, the tale of a sad clown may be more relatable than ever,” says Windnagel. “We might try to hide it, but we are all quite fragile and maybe a little sad.”

There will be six public performances between Nov. 27 and Dec. 5 in the Reeve Theatre, for a small in-person audience (capacity of 31 seats). Tickets range from $17 to $22 and have to be requested at least two business days before the performance. There are no online sales, no door sales, no walk-ups.
