The National Arts Centre English Theatre invites proposals from Canadian theatre companies with mandates centering around the celebration and elevation of Black artists to be the partner company in the NAC English Theatre’s new structure, now including the position of a Co-Curating Company in Residence.
The Co-Curating Company in Residence will have the platform of half of the programming resources of the NAC English Theatre with which to engage with their mandate through a national lens. The Co-Curating Company will be paid a fee for this collaboration. The pilot season will see the Co-Curating Company program work for the 2021-2022 NAC English Theatre Season.
The Co-Curating Company will not need to relocate to Ottawa, but may be required to travel at various points in the year.
The Terms of Engagement for the Co-Curating Company in Residence, including details about the fee and budget, as well as the proposal form, can be accessed by contacting judi.pearl@nac-cna.ca.
Proposals are due by Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 5pm Eastern.
The selection committee for the Co-Curating Company in Residence for the 2021-2022 season will be Audrey Dwyer, Mike Payette, and NAC English Theatre Artistic Director Jillian Keiley.
We will not be entertaining media requests at this time. A press announcement featuring the new Co-Curating Company will be scheduled at a later date.
