Nightswimming invites Black and/or Indigenous creators working in any performance discipline (including dance and music) to propose an idea for a $20,000 commission. In addition to the commission, the artist(s) will receive multi-year dramaturgical and financial support from Nightswimming – all the details are outlined in the full Call for Commission Proposals.
We encourage big, bold ideas that seek to challenge and change the theatrical landscape, and welcome proposals that explore the boundaries of disciplines and dramaturgical approaches.
Propose an idea for a new work that you’ve always wanted to explore but never had the opportunity to pursue. Rather than works-in-progress and drafts of existing projects, we are seeking proposals for a new project that you can develop from the very beginning of the process with Nightswimming’s dramaturgical support.
