Survey (Edmonton): Stories to Action: Co-Creating Inclusive Pathways to Professional Theatre in Edmonton – Updated

Are you a theatre artist who studied performance or got your first stage opportunities in YEG? We'd like to hear from you!

Edmonton Theatre Artists: You are invited to share your perspective on fair access and inclusion in Edmonton’s theatre community. Monetary incentives are available for participation.

The purpose of this research is to learn how artists in Edmonton gain access to the performing arts, and to remove barriers to inclusion in training programs. The project was created by April Killins, a student researcher from Royal Roads University. It is being administered in partnership with the YEG Performing Arts Accessibility Ad Hoc Group.

If language, internet access, or other barriers prevent you from completing this survey online, please call or text 780-666-0059 or email april@transposethestage.ca to arrange a confidential interview or other data collection method that works for you.

  • The survey is open to anyone who has participated in theatre training in Edmonton (including high school, community, and/or post-secondary performance training)
  • We especially encourage participation from artists who sometimes face barriers to inclusion
  • The survey will be open until October 24, 2020*.
To complete the survey, follow this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YegAdHoc

*The survey closing date was originally October 29, 2020. Due to an overwhelming response from the community, and after consultation with the researcher and their supervisor, the survey will be closed on Saturday, October 24, 2020 to allow for analysis to begin. We thank everyone who took the time to share their perspective. Please contact the researcher at the email above if you have any questions.
