Announcement (Alberta): The 2020 Alberta Playwriting Competition Winners

Meg Braem head shotAlberta Playwrights’ Network is delighted to announce that the Grand Prize winner of the 2020 Alberta Playwriting Competition is Meg Braem for her play Chrysothemis. A striking reimagining of the story of the oft-forgotten daughter of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon, Chrysothemis is a deft and complex narrative that blows the dust off an old myth.
 
APN is also delighted to announce not just one, but two Novitiate Prize winners! The Novitiate Prize is awarded at the jury’s discretion 
 
The first winner is Michelle Robb for her play Tell Us What Happened, a timely script about university students who are suddenly tasked with dealing with sexual assault allegation against of one of their own.
 
The second winner is Katherine DeCoste for her play Many Hollow Mercies, a poetic dystopia about a couple wandering a waterless world.
