Classes (Edmonton): Acting Intensive (Age 16+) – Grindstone Theatre

 

Comedic or Dramatic? That is the question. Choose your perfect monologue and explore the character behind it in Grindstone Theatre’s summer Acting Intensives (ages 16+). Guided by experienced theatre professionals students will learn the fundamentals of preparing and performing a contemporary monologue. Both in-person and online classes available.

In-person Class: July 27 – 31, Monday to Friday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Online Class: August 10 – 28, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Candace BerlinguetteThis class is facilitated by Candace Berlinguette. Candace is an actor, producer, yoga instructor and teacher. Selected acting credits include: Bug (BLT), The Performance (Play The Fool Festival), The Water Project (Second Playing Space), Murderers Confess at Christmastime (Theatre Network’s Performance Series and Toronto’s Summerworks Festival), Ladies Who Lynch (Azimuth Theatre and Canoe Theatre Festival), The National Elevator Project (Theatre Yes), Mump and Smoot in Something (Yukon Arts Centre and Kennedy Centre Theatre College Festival, Sudbury Theatre Centre and The Vancouver East Cultural Centre). Candace has both an Arts and Education Degree from the University of Alberta. She has trained with SITI, One Yellow Rabbit and The Manitoulin Conservatory for Creation and Performance.


GRINDSTONE THEATRE is a non-profit Edmonton based theatre company established in 2011. We operate our own venue, The Grindstone Comedy Theatre & Bistro in Old Strathcona.
