Audition for the Freewill Shakespeare/Thou Art Here Theatre summer project!
ABOUT THE POSITION
Freewill Shakespeare Festival and Thou Art Here Theatre are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join the team this summer for their collaboration on an all new promotional project. Performers will rehearse and perform songs and short scenes based on Shakespeare’s work written by Alyson Dicey and directed by David Horak. Shows will be filmed with the possibility of live presentations for the public if health measures will allow later in the summer. We are looking for 3 collaborative performers who want to build skills and get hands-on practice.
Singing and/or proficient skills in handheld instruments (ie. guitar, violin, etc) will be necessary for this production. Performers should be non-union.
2 Performers – contracted under the Canada Summer Jobs program. NOTE: Must be aged 15 to 30 see https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/funding/canada-summer-jobs.html for more information about the program.
1 Performer – paid by honorarium.
Applicants must be available for daytime rehearsals in July as well as performances during the rest of the summer (some flexibility allowed). Contract will end at the end of August.

AUDITION TIMES
Auditions will be held July 5-6 online over Zoom. If there are any barriers to your accessibility with this audition format, please indicate them in your email and we will work with you to see you in a different way. The Zoom link and time will be sent to you once your audition has been confirmed.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
If you have a musical instrument, please come prepared to demonstrate your skills with a short song of your choosing.
