The Nextfest Arts Company and Theatre Network invite you to experience eleven days of creative newness and experimentation with the 25th annual Nextfest Emerging Arts Festival running June 4 – June 14, 2020 from the comfort of your own home!
For twenty-five years, The Nextfest Arts Company has been a platform for emerging artists, a meeting ground for community, a springboard for creative invention. Mentorship, inclusion, learning, creative risk, and vulnerability are at the core of everything we stand for.
Due to COVID-19, Nextfest cannot happen the way it has in the past by bringing together 700+ artists for an 11-day celebration in the Old Strathcona neighbourhood of Edmonton, Alberta.

At Nextfest, everyone is welcome exactly as they are. Our circle continues to grow and evolve with our artists as they grow and evolve, too. As we bring the festival online, we invite you to join this ever-expanding circle. In this circle, you can wear sweatpants at any time.

Presented as part of Theatre Network’s Mainstage season, Nextfest is in the business of supporting and rewarding creative risk giving a platform to emerging artists in music, theatre, dance, poetry, film, design, comedy, drag, and multimedia. From theatre productions and musical revues, to dance works from across the country and the festival’s infamous NiteClub series, to the festival’s fresh professional development Workshop Series, Nextfest promises something surprising and new.
