What is Garden Party dancing like in today’s COVID world? What can we learn from our knowledge of botany, indigenous plants, and how we eat food? How can we sustain growth and community?
Garden Party features a variety of amazing dancers from around the globe! From performances by Cree grassdancer Creeasian, to a Shinto shrine dance by improviser Hideo Arai in Tokyo, then leading us to the UK into an English garden featuring dancer Carolyn Deby of Sirenscrossing. Dancers Tony Chong and Carol Prieur will bring a BBQ surprise from Montreal and our flamboyant host Piet Defraeye, whose “eye” for gardening, aesthetics, and failure, will be sure to assist us in COVID gardening performance landscapes.
Audiences are encouraged to watch and share from their own gardens in this interactive and exciting global performance online. Watch on a large TV or project it on your garage door for neighbours to see!
