Jupiter Theatre is very excited to announce the release of the production video of The Robber Bridegroom for your at home viewing pleasures! We presented this co-production with Chimera Theatre in Calgary in March 2019 and last summer, the show toured to Regina, Winnipeg, Victoria, and Vancouver to critical success and fantastic reviews!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”Simply a masterpiece” – Ed Sum, Two Hungry Blokes

“This innovative marvel of a show is creepy, creative, and a wonderfully subversive undoing of the Brothers Grimm classic” – Andrea Warner, the Georgia Straight

“Its final few moments are a testament to the power of theatre… its impact is undeniable.”— Mark Robins, Vancouver Presents

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ½ “Nightmare and reality intertwine in Andrew G. Cooper’s dramatic interpretation of “The Robber Bridegroom,”… this performance deserves a standing applause.” — Chris Horne, The Martlet

“Turn Back, Turn Back, Thou Bonnie Bride…” The Robber Bridegroom tells the tale of an impoverished miller who seeks a better life for his only daughter. To save the mill, they arrange for her marriage to a wealthy man from out of town. She wants to help her family and do what is right, but something wicked lurks in the woods where the bridegroom lives. This production brings new life to this classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale in this dark adaptation that explores intuition, intrigue, and the uncertain nature of humanity.

The Robber Bridegroom was adapted and directed by Artistic Producer Andrew G. Cooper and features Artistic Associate Madeleine Taylor-Gregg. Now it’s back and this time in your home! The premiere of this video will be released on YouTube at 7:00 pm (MDT) on Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 and will be available to view online for the month of May. The video will be free to view, with an option to donate on our website for those who are able to.

You’ll be able to find it on our YouTube channel and can also check out it out (and find more information about the production) on our website: https://www.theatrejupiter.com/robberbridegroom
